Hi,

You have two options to generate smoke for smoke test of ducts:

1. Use TTC i.e. Titanium tetrachloride. It generate smoke when in comes in contact with atmosphere. However, it is carcinogenic and causes pitting in internal surface of ducts.

2. Second option is to use fog generator, which uses water based solvents like glycerine to generate smoke.

Mr. Vijay is right with the use of smoke test for the ducts being installed at site, however smoke testing should be applied and eject it into the duct just only to secure that the installation has no leak. You can do one thing, apply applicable sealant in all fittings and connection so totally tight so that u don't have any waste time in the future.

thanks....
