This was the biggest job i've done since being selfemployed. Two 15hp Frascold units with two Luve evaporators. The framework is to take the weight of the evaporators as they weight 250kg dry. The room is about 10m x12m x 6m heigh. When i went there last it was so full that you couldn't get in at all, pallets stacked upto the ceiling:rolleyes:

Two-stage compression system with three levels of economizing the liquid feed. About 4,000 HP & 80,000 pounds of R-22!
Oh yeah, all thermosiphon cooled oil coolers too.
In a chemical plant no less...

God's sake dont buy Acson, contact Daikin in Manc, you can get for same price!!!
Hi!!
You might be interested to know that I did maintain and run a plant room with 10 mono screws installed on FES packs, going as far back as 1987. 2 stage system running cold rooms, in-line carton freezers, chilled water and A/C cooling. Plant was installed in South Africa at a large poultry processing operation. I have always been a fan of the Mono-Screw but I was surprised that it is not very popular, or so it looks to me. I am in the Industrial Ammonia side of the business in the UK.

the biggest for me was 3 x Sulzer Unitop Centrifugal compressors running on about 6 ton of R22 and about 12 megawatts of cooling was the largest package unit ever made in the southern hemisphere. It was pressure tested with about 100 large bottles of Nitrogen and vacced out using three very big Edwards pumps with intakes of 2 1/8 ,about 4 weeks to fully vaccume out. that was an experience i will never forget this as about 20 years ago(the good old days)
3600 ton centrifugal R22 chiller.

One centrifugal water chiller at 8500ton in a single compressor.
One R-22 system with two 6500 HP Eliott centrigual API compressors at -20 dF ET
Numerous screw systems totaling 5000 HP or more.
Lowest temp was a -120 dF job utilizing an oil free reciprocating compressor cascaded into ammonina high stage.
Smallest...my home refrigerator.

Hi Guys:)
mines not as big:D
Single screw 321 Howden on a glycol chiller, 6600 volt motor DOL starting.
Did design and specification on larger systems, 6mW glycol chiller comes to mind.
Kind Regards Andy:)

Mine was a Huge Frozen Yogurt plant.
-50, -40, -20 + 18 F
10 Fes units incl. 5 321 boosters and multi 700 hp high stage
Big freezers, tunnels, misc glycol chillers, ice builders and a huge building,, All grass roots design build in the 1980s
Most intersting thing is that it was all auctioned off about 6 months ago.
So much for monuments to yourself...

in cooling capacity it would have to be a 1100 Kw RSW cooling system (roughly 1.000.000 K/cal if I'm correct).
Amount of refrigerant it would be 11 metric tons of NH3 of a freezing, cooling and freezedrying plant

For this past year, how about the installation of a 4000 Ton water chiller, powered by a 13 psi steam turbine (70,000 #/hr steam flow), 2 x 5000 ton electrics driven by VFDs, a 4000 Ton electric on VFD, and then two 5000 tonners, one driven on a steam turbine, the other on electric with VFD !!
