Hi,
I recently had my house air conditioning serviced and now after
about 20 minutes the suction line to the roof mounted compressor is iceing up.
Is the system overcharged or is it something else.
Regards, Terry

Not a refer?

Could be so many things!

Get the company who did the service job back, they should make it right!

Hi there,

It not overcharged.

The LP goes down and the corresponding temperature is below 0°C. Check one of the four reasons :

1- Lack of refrigerant
2- Lack of expansion device capacity
3- Pre-expansion in the liquid line
4- Lack of evaporator capacity

If you are not a refrigeration technician then call someone to check it for you.

Good luck
Cheers

Blocked filter, reduced airspeed over evaporator coil.

air flow problem or low charge to start with. sounds like a callback

Is the fault come up only after the servicing done? Frosting in the compressor means that you may have low superheat, may be the evaporator fan doesnt work.

I assume that your A/C unit normally working before the technician did their service works.
You've got to call that service company to rectify the fault.

Had one of those again only yesterday, on a undercounter fridge. One of two evap fans seized, replace and Ah HA all good again. Again , if just serviced it may be overcharged, blocked evap, over feeding /Crook TX, etc.
Can any one help with my problem, I have been to service a Sanyo Under ceiling unit today that has two condensor fans that wont run, under over configuration. Compressor is OK, Also showing a P2 or PO2 fault code. Model is SPW C45 1AH8
Thanks Fellows.

Not to say that you could have overlooked anything but, check the filter of the furnace. If it is dirty the line could ice up. Also make sure your fan in the funace is running. ( if you have no cooling at all.) Also you could have a rstriction or a faulty expansion valve.Good luck.

how are these fans controled? ambiant thermostat pressure switch. its hard to say without knowing what controles your unit has.

Blocked filter, reduced airspeed over evaporator coil.

I agree. It's an airflow problem.

It is certainly not undercharged
