Hi Milton and welcome to the forum.

In the UK there is only one type of R134a.

I believe that some imports of small cans for topping up auto ac may contain additives.

generally speaking, it has to do with the fitting on the bottle itself. "Commercial" has a 1/4" flare and "auto" has a acme fitting. Its for the "special" a/c hoes for auto mechanics.

it depends on the manufacturer of the gas...we use both types of fittings. some bottles come with 1/4 flares and others with R134a fitting...the latest supplier sent us bottles with a totally different thread and they suppied the adapter.

The only difference between the two is the type of fitting on the bottle. Normal R134a will have a 1/4" flair fitting, automotive will have what is called an ACME fitting...I think that it is an American thing....He he I think that Wiley coyote may be able to help with an ACME fitting, if not then your automotive a/c parts supplier should be able to help with an adaptor
