Carrier chiller basic board problem

Dear friends I am facing problem on carrier pro dialog plus chiller Model 30GH 025 7290EE this chiller basic board faulty and i replaced with new basic board and removed EPROM from old board. But now display showing "conF" I checked chiller manual they mention when "conF" shows on the user interface this means that the basic board must be configured, this can only be done by carrier service

Yes,
You have to contact UTS CARRIER, They will up load the new board,
This is the problem with all new chillers processor broads when ever a replacement is required you have to upload it by them.

The pass word is also a problem,
Pro Dialog chillers usually has 2 pass word , the second one is for the factory set up, and that is not mentioned in any cats,

I guess it is Carel board. As far as I understand the eprom has not programmed yet. It has to be programmed by Carrier. Paswords will not help us. Passwords will heplp you after uploading the program to change the parameters.

Mr. Condor you cannot enter the password first
I want to be done configuration of my basic board this display only showing ‘CONF’ you cannot enter anything. Password normally creating for any one change the parameters and un-authorized person touching the display

Your right but this is basic board OP12AS001 and 2nos EPROM U2&U3 but we required to program basic board because EPROM we removed old this is working other board

You are right, the board must first be uploaded and configured, the pass words required for system testing and system setup,
This is for most of the new systems which has micro processor controllers, This is a money making business the manufacturers keeps secrets with them for to make good money, I still remember the old horses, you can at least run the machine by making some alterations, and now if a you don't have a same sensor,transducer, p.c board even a switch the whole system is dead and we feel shame about that we can not fix it.......:eek: :confused: :( :mad:

Of couse you can program the board (on site), it is a bit tricky, but possible. You will just need the old eprom, the password, and the advanced manual (a few of carriers industrial engineers have it, and know how to do it on site). But you can also use a laptop and a hasp, that is much fastere.

When a new board is fitted, it will display Conf. The only way to programme the board is by Carrier Rep using "Carrier Service Tool" with a laptop. In behind the display is a sticker with a code starting with 88CS_ _ _. They will use that code to upload the correct information.

It is right that you program the board from the number written inside of the electrical box. The number is identifying what purpose the controller is used for, what refrigerant is used and so on. But it is NOT right, that you can't program it on site without a laptop. Just read the advanced manual, there is a good explanation, on how to do it. But i dont know how hard it is to get, they probably wont give it to everyone. They also have to make a living :)

Go to this site find your chiller and download the manual for your controller, it can be done without the laptop it just take great deal of consentration.

we only call in Carrier as a last resort.

hi noushad,when you purchase anew board,it is allready programmed.especially in carrier chiller not remove "eprom".if u remove eprom program will be cancelled.may i know when you buy new processor board,is there not included 'eprom"?

hi there as said before on this forum no u dont need to configure a compressor board only make sure your dip's are set as previous board and comm is connected ok

The compressor board does need software but this should have been done before you got it. The board has a few different uses and needs the correct software for a screw compressor. Ask your Carrier supplier if the software was programmed onto the board. If it has the software, carry out Goshen advice on checking your connections.
