That's just amazing. I'd like to build a small version to serve as a decoration for my science fair project board. I think I'll use Peltiers since they're a much better match for the load.

Would you be able to get a peltier to get low enough for frost to form.

One can definitely do it. I once tried an experiment of mounting a small Peltier (10w) on a heatsink and connecting it to a power supply for a few hours. The cold side was covered in about 3mm of frost when I checked.

I've only seen the ones that are used in the kids pop fridges or in the travel boxes for picnics. I always undestood them to only achieve a 10k diff over the thing, so I've learnt somthing new today:)
What shape would you make it.
