Any ex BT engineers out there

Hi All,

Problem with a BT phone socket, just moved a bookshelf and the phone socket that someones bodged in has come off and poss some of the wires


Old style box on wall with a 4 strand wire going to a new style box

Wires are brown, blue, green and orange.
brown and blue still attached but green and orange just hanging in box
brown going to A in box
blue going to B in box
Green off should it go the E ?????
inside the box there are also 6 connection points 1-6
does the orange go to one of them ???????

any ideas

Why strain your brain when you can just look in the adjacent telephone point and copy? :) ;)

Have you tried to use the socket?

Sometimes there is only 2 wires connected anyway.
