Vacuum Gauges

What vacuum gauge/setup do you use/recommend for splits?
Anyone use the ones that fit on the manifold in replace of the low side gauge or the in-line ones? (so that you can get futher away from the vac)
I've got the robinair 15600 5 cfm vac.

I use a REFCO Torr gauge from SRW. It's 0-100mbar. Manifold-mounted vacuum gauges (typically 0-1000mbar) aren't much good for seeing the small-ish rise in pressure (decrease in vacuum) when the system you're vaccing out isn't completely dry.
It's like measuring the diameter of a 1mm drill bit with a metre-stick!
These are much more expensive (£170) as opposed to £40 for a vacuum gauge. I use the spare port on my manifold to connect it.
