Hi guys, I have problem with noise that comes from compressor to condenser. This unit is usually compact, but as the neighbors was complaining about noise, we took compressor out of the unit and install it inside the wearhouse. That make some results about noise reduction but still noise is to high, we need to reduce it for 5dB more.

Sound is from scroll compressor and goes out through discharge line.

I was wondering will muffler can do some help?

A muffler would be a good idea to reduce gas pulses and noise.

Few years back we installed a big ac system (1 1/8 - 1/2 pipework) in a timber framed building, despite the outdoor unit running nice and quietly there was a lot of noise transmitted via the pipework, in the end we fitted a vibration eliminator just by the outdoor unit which stopped the problem, so maybe worth fitting a vibration eliminator at the same time as the muffler in case its noise traveling down the pipes.

Another thing to check is that the noise isn't coming from the condenser fans, either from an out of balance blade or bad bearing, or a noise caused by variable speed drives causing some sort of resonance.
