Best folder to use

Hi

I’m fairly new to the air conditioning Business need and would like some feedback.
Thoughts please on the best solder to use on a line set to get a lovely clean finish.

There are a few branded solders on the market and any good wholesaler will stock them.

Most rods are between 90% pure copper and 98% pure copper. the rest is made up from other metals such as Silver and Phosphorous (spelling?). expensive rods will have 6% silver and cheaper rods will have 2% silver. The phosphorous is about 2% across to range and that acts as a flux barrier.

Silver solder rods are up to 45% - 50% silver and are quite expensive.

Some brands are

Rothenberger
Silfos
Eutectic rods

But go to BOC or your wholesaler and the rods they stock will be the ones you want.

The higher the silver content the easier they flow but the more expensive they are.

With about 6% silver the rod will flow beautifully and without flux but they are a bit more
expensive than the 2% silver content.

You tend to buy rods by the Kilo.

You can easily buy it at any air conditioning supply store. Copper pipes are common accessories in air conditioning installations.

I suspect one of the indoors has a problem with its thermistors or a kinked pipe; one indoor simply does not cool as well as the others. I was looking for the temperatures/resistance of the sensors mentioned by you! Thanksslope game (https://slopegame.io)

Rob,
Interesting, as in our part of the world would use 15% silver solder on copper to copper, mainly for the strength.
Steel or brass to copper 45% using flux.

Plumbing, water etc 4%.
