Hi everyone. Does anyone have experience driving EBM axial fans with Variable Frecuency drives ? More specifically, we are trying to set up condensing temperature control for a chiller which has 2 A6D910 fans with a Schneider ATV310HU15N4 VFD.

The thing is, EBM says they do not recommend using fans with VFDs beause there is a potential bearing premature damage and we have reasons to believe this maybe true (but thousands of different applications with VFDs claiming they are perfectly ok to be used).

Regards

I have seen EPM motor or equivalent run with VFD a couple of time.
Many manufacturer are using those motors on there setup.

If you are afraid for the bearing there is filtering solution at the VFD outlet to control the voltage spike.

DV-Dt filters are one solution

Sine wave filter are a more efficient solution

Yes. The guy seems to know what he´s talking about. Describes the kind of issues we are worried about. Thanks
