Hi all

Just fitted a split unit as above,looking at the refrigerant charge chart.It gives the quantity for pipe length one way only.Are they already taking into account its x2,or do i have to x2.
Here's the link to the chart :-

A previous Mitsubishi unit i fitted it just gave a simple per metre measurement.

Thanks all
Matt

Unit is charged for 7m.
Additional charge is 30g/m for any length over 7m. So for a 10m indoor/outdoor pipe length you would add 3 x 30g.
Additional charge is only measured on the liquid line.

This unit is also giving a simple per metre measurement.

Although this unit uses the entire pipework and indoor unit as the evaporator the suction pipe should be almost 100% vapour.

The discharge line to the indoor unit is is after the unit expansion device so could be considered to be in a mixed state. Therefore you only need to add refrigerant to maintain the required state in the discharge line.

Hi again
I'm fitting a toshiba unit now in the lounge ,its an rav-sm800,does the same apply,
this is the charge table http://www.toshiba-aircon.co.uk/assets/uploads/pdf/sales_tools/Technical_Handbook_version_11_5c.pdf

.so would be 40g/m one way,{i don't include the return,as it were}
in the installation it says total pipe length

It'll be the same as before, one way only.
