Hi there, thank you for having me on this forum.

I live in Thailand, Bangkok, 10th floor, and they are installing 4 compressors on a covered outside balcony, size LxWxH: 2490 x 700 x 3200, so it's about 2.5 meter long, and 70cm wide, height to ceiling is 3.2 meter:

1x Daikin Zetas Inverter wall mount (FTKZ-VV2S), compressor RKZ12VV2S, 12k BTU, size 550x675x284 (L x H x W)
3x Daikin FCF24CV2S cassettes, 24k BTU, size 595 x 845 x 300 (L x H x W)

In Thailand you best figure out everything by yourself, or they will simply install it in the easiest way...

I was thinking about these options:

the contractor installed them 2inch=5cm from left wall, 4inch=10cm from each other... leaving a huge gap to the right side wall...
and the top one is mounted few centimeters above the bottom one on a steel rack...

I've asked them to correct this and follow the manufacturer's guidelines...

I found in this PDF the instructions from Daikin:
https://backend.daikincomfort.com/docs/default-source/product-documents/residential/manuals/installationmanuals/rzr-rzq18-48tavjua-installation-manual.pdf

They don't clearly mention what if the compressors are stacked? also 20inch=50cm clearance between them?

So in my case there's the obstacle on both sides and at top, if you consider the compressor above the bottom one an obstacle... so scenario on right side:

It seems Daikin is asking from left side 40inch =1 meter clearance, and between the units 2inch=10 cm is enough?!
I was thinking of making a more even spread, another Daikin installer said to keep 10inch=25cm between the compressors.

So would there be a better airflow if we max out the clearance on left side, and only keep 10cm between the compressors, and right side to wall min. 8 inch = 20 cm, so that would give:

Carriers seems to opt for an even spread between outdoor units:

which makes more sense, the further apart from each other, the more fresh air they would take in?

Many thanks for your advice,

with kind regards,
Michael
