Daikin service checker help

Hi All
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know if a Daikin Service Checker Type 3 is still usable on recent systems, the one that I have been offered only as version 1.09 software.

Does anyone know of/have a newer version of software

Also as anyone used a USB Parallel port converter to connect

Hello Dave

The service checker is a tool only. Service checker software is what you install onto your laptop. Latest version software is available from Daikin or online. Latest version I used was 1.55b. Some of the later versions include being able to connect to Altherma etc.

Can I ask you about the PC that you use, as I see that the checker needs a parallel port. My laptop doesn’t have one, so was wondering if an external one would work, or do I need to find an old laptop.

I used a Parallel to USB converter then plugged into a USB port. I've used it on both Win XP and Win 7.

Not sure about Win 10 as I've had no need to upgrade. Quite happy with Win 7.

I've had to select the correct USB port in the settings as I've found that Daikin software is not that clever in detecting the USB port.

Thanks for that, I’ve ordered a cable and usb floppy to install software.

Now have software ver 1.66

Didn’t realise that Daikin had online courses, so checked, but all full. Will keep looking
