Hi Guys,

Could you please tell me if energizing the capacity control solenoids on this make and model loads or unloads the compressor. I am not onsite to confirm and I am new to this compressor. It has 4 stages of step capacity.

Passandscore check out page 57, think this is what you want.
4 solenoids, lots of different ways to control.

Or page 13 in this one might be better

Look at what Ranger said, Page 14 on the second link is the best description.

Funny thing, this compressor has a slidevalve, and the Pulsing of the Y4 solenoid is just to keep it in 100%, it slides back for 10 seconds, then the valve energizes and pushes it back.

We've used these compressors on a few smaller RSW plants.

TOP TIP: Check all the solenoid coils for electrical insulation!
We had a system where the coils were not properly insulated and the current leakage ate up the pipes in the chiller.
On further new compressors we measured insulation faults on the coils.
insulation fault on 60% of the replacement coils we got, so it took some back and forth before we had a full set of proper coils :)

Thank you. That was exactly what I was looking for.

This is a nice description of how it works from Hanbell.
Bitzer might have it, but can’t find easily.
