Looking for tips or advice on Phillips oil level float
Have oil reservoir with pressure regulator set 100 kpa (15psi)higher than single compressor sump pressure.
Reservoir 2 metres (6 feet)above sump with solenoid before float on compressor.
Previously worked for 10 years, started to get high sump levels, replace, same problem.
Pressure test needle & seat with air 30psi & leaks from new.
Would send back, but USA to far for that.
Any ideas?

They do say that the valve shouldn't be used at pressures above 20psi.

I was going to suggest honing the valve seat but I don't know what sort of valve it is.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Pressure Rating: 300 psig (21 bar, gauge)
Maximum Operating
Pressure Differential: 275AF: 20 psi (1.4 bar)
275AP/APF: 250 psi (17 bar)


When using this valve to maintain oil level in compressors the float has to drop in order to open the valve and allow oil from your reservoir to fill the crankcase. If you have an empty valve chamber and try pressure testing there will be flow. Once there is a proper oil level inside the float chamber, the float will rise and stop the flow of oil.

it says in this one "If the oil reservoir is at a pressure equal to the compressor crankcase, it must be elevated at least two feet above the desired compressor crankcase oil level so that gravity feed can take place"

if you have 6 feet, I would have equalized the pressure and tried gravity feed, even though gravity feed is not recommended.

I hate floats where they feed it "the wrong way" like in this application.
