Hi Guys.
Its not my field of expertise, so hence the questions.
Its that time of year and Family have asked.
When checking out a car A/C.
Is it best to recover Vacuum and Recharge to given system Charge Weight?
Or is it acceptable to top up to a suitable Saturated Suction Temp. -
(Less involved option!)

Many Thanks Grizzly

Just top up unless the standing charge is zero.

If you vacc out you might be tempted to pressure test and then all sorts of devils start appearing.

Don't forget to tell them to run the system at least once a week, throughout the year, to keep seals lubricated.

Hi Grizzly.
As Brian said, just top it up to a full sight glass witch is located on the filter drier when motor rpm is around 1500 -1800.
I have seen some guys connecting the ac compressor to the reverse light to keep the mechanic seal oiled.

You must use a switch or your reverse light will come on every time you switch the AC on....
