Just pay Google a visit and search for refrigeration, you will notice thermocom rebuilds who have just decided to sell direct to end users at trade prices, so just hope your customer doesn't have a moment of madness and try and source this themselves and you to fit it for very little money.

The industry is hard enough without your customers knowing how much you payed for it.

This is actually better for self employed engineers , without the hassle to worry about warranty issues.

How are self employed engineers ever going to make a decent living if the customer is supplying the goods and dictating how much you can earn.OK if you want to work like a slave until you retire and stay a warranty dodger you may be right,but engineers deserve more than that.

Agree :) , they can buy whatever they like, asking only for proper installation and we have to charge them for "knowledge".

I'm doing industrial installations and sometimes we have to install a lot of sh't but definitely not free of charge (even more expensive) because someone made mistake ;)

I always want to have customers who decide components and eventually give them to me as WIP. This way I can make more money in repair, and do sloppy shoulders on problems.

Not sure if its the company that I had a problem with a few years ago, will have to check, basically the company that I knew were selling refurbished compressors but the truth was they were painted up secondhand, one good compressor made out of 2 or 3 compressors and went something like this.

Had a compressor sent to site, man handled on top of a roof, fitted it, switched it on, faulty. Had a replacement sent same day, fitted that, faulty. Third time lucky.

On another site again on a roof, fitted the compressor the head pressure brigg was leaking, totally destroyed threads, had to ring the carrier to turn around and bring the old compressor back so that I could swap the heads around.

The compressors on the web site seem cheap to me for something like a Prestcold 2 HP, pay your money, take your chances.

Sorry if it sounded like i was plugging a company,it just makes my blood boil to think that skilled engineers and refrigeration company's are once again stopped from pushing our industry forward to protect the years of training we under go,i dont take my car to the garage and give him the parts to fix it, do you?

I mentioned the company in hope that other company's/engineers who bought from them could decide if it was worth trading with a company that might keep the end users address from delivering to site to start a mailshot campaign.

Anyway, it doesn't make any sense in buying a remanufactured compressor at those prices.
I compared scrolls from Copeland and my purchase price of BRAND NEW compressors is from 10% to 20% lower.

ThermaCom offer their entire product range openly and to the entire World. Prices advertised are solely Trade Prices and are not directed at End Users. As the prices on the website are shown in £, € & US $ to then show notional List / Trade pries becomes misleading, especially to non UK clients, where the Trade structure prevalent in the UK does not exist.

If an End User wants to find any firm in any specialised sector then it is simple for them to do this. ThermaCom do offer client loyalty and will not quote prices to End Users if these are known to be the clients of existing customers, but surrepticious approaches cannot always be prevented.

Anyway every major Supermarket chain in the UK has some form of direct purchase agreement with a compressor Re-Manufacturer and none of these has a direct deal with ThermaCom.

ThermaCom are the only Re-manufacturer whom openly offer the Trade prices on their website, however sales to End Users are not encouraged and it is a specific requirement that they should employ a properly qualified refrigeration engineer to undertake installation, otherwise No warranty is issued.
