Hi All,

Airedale seem a tad stingy with info..
I reckon this chiller was never commissioned properly in the 1st place.
When the BMS drops the enable signal to the chiller to switch it off remotely, it seems the
chiller expects the water flow to stop as well. As the pumps remain on, the chiller thinks the flow switch may have 'stuck' and that's the alarm that is displayed.
I'd like to check the parameters to see if this is the case but checked through Carel's Pc02 parameter list and couldn't see many flow switch or pump settings..

Anyone had similar

Note: There are no pumps on this chiller - they are external to the chiller..

Hi
If the pumps are external how are they controlled?

Its likely they are controlled by your BMS.
So unless the remote run signal is also configured to stop the pumps.

The flow switch is going to stay energised, I doubt the pumps are switched by the chiller!
The pump configuration can also depend upon the Chiller size.
The norm usually is.
If the pumps stop then the flow stops and the flow switch drops out!

There is a remote run set of contacts on the chiller.
Also dependant upon which controller you have you can set it to enable or disable remote Pump run

Check out the manual I am sending you.
I cannot sent it because you don't have a email address listed?
PM Me!"
Good Luck Grizzly.

I Quote from a Carel PCo2 Manual

Pump lead/lag time The PUMPCONTROL of the user settings menu allows the user to define the
pump-lead time and pump-lag time.
Line n° Display Description Default value Limit value
1 PUMP CONTROL Screen title
2 PUMPLEADTIME
Time to run the water pump
before starting up the chiller
020 s 020-180 s
3 PUMPLAGTIME
Time to run the water pump
after stopping the chiller
000 s 000-180 s
Remark : the default value for the PUMPLAGTIME 0 s but it is recommend to set the lag time to
120s. This is to prevent that the evaporator freezes up.
