prohibit code 38

found reoccuring error codes j4 and j7 on daikin outdoor master unit model REMHQ12P8Y1B,after
unit kept cutting out i decided to prohibit the master unit using code 38 so the slave could still run.
instructions were as follows 1 hold mode button bs1for 5seconds or more till lit.
2 press set button 38 times.
3 press return button once.
4 press set button once.
5 pressreturn button twice.
6.press mode button once.
tried instructions but it didnt program out the master unit.can anybody confirm instructions and
code 38 are correct for this unit.
i question point 6 as i thought you would exit if you pressed the mode button and return to normal operation.

I've done just that on a VRV2 for the slave and it worked no problem. In that case it was 39 not 38 and you get lights 2,5,6 and 7 lit, from there
press return and get h6p flashing
press set and get h7p flashing
return twice
mode once to come out.

To get it back working again you have to repeat this operation.

Are you sure you have the master unit?
3 and 8 lit when out of the setting modes for master
8 flashing for slave 1
All off for slave 2

Otherwise have you set it then done it again and set it back
Settings have to be made at the master unit.
Manual should be easy enough to find in interweb but must admit it is hard work to get the jist of.

thanks andy,i have a vrv3,and assume i have the master as there are 2x sets off comms cables on this unit and only1x set on the other.i may have put the code in wrong and will try again when i return to site to fit the sensors.unfortunately i only work on vrvs about every 6-8months so often forget what i have learned.
