Hi All,
Ive just started repairing rd2sr units for our local icecream man.
I was wondering if anyone has some info on these units. As I know hardly anything.
I had a 25 fault which is alternator check. How do I test to see if alternator is working properly?
Does anyone have any Quick repair sheets for all the fault codes? Like what is the main causes and easy fixes for most fault codes? At the moment I have to call our local thermoking bloke but he is not always available and probably getting sick of me calling.

Google tk codes and you will find what the codes refer to.

Check alternator brushes. How many hours has the unit done?
After roughly 10000hrs those alternators seem to have worn the entire way
Through the slip rings. Would also recommend changing alternator brushes
Every 6- 7000hrs. Other than that, ensure belt tension is good.
As well as battery voltage at the 2 wire and a good earth at the alternator itself

41 - 2194 is the part number for a new alternator

(Replaces TK 41071)

Alternator Check
Indicates that the engine is running
and the battery voltage is too high or
too low as measured on the 8F wire
at the controller.
This is either a check or shutdown
alarm.
1. Check the voltage by pressing the “Select” key until the
display shows [bAt].
2. If over 16 volts verify with an external digital voltmeter. If still
over 16 volts test and repair charging system as required.
3. If under 13 volts verify with an external digital voltmeter. If
still under 13 volts test and repair charging system as
required.
Beginning with software version 108x, the alarm code lower
limit for battery voltage is 12.5 volts.
4. Check the alternator connections.
5. Check the alternator Deutsch connector for a pushed pin or
missing orange pin wedge or loose pin crimp or broken
wire.
6. Check the excitation voltage to the alternator.
