I have an Indesit CG1305NF frost free fridge freezer that is not cooling the fridge or freezer.
I have done alot of research but am still not sure and need some expertise to diagnose.
When power is on but thermostat is off there is a low hum.
When thermostat is turned on the normal fridge noises start up and are there continuously.
The condenser gets hot.
The fan in the freezer compartment runs continuously.
The light works fine when door opened.
There is 240v supplied to the thermostat. Checked via meter.
There is also 240v being supplied to a red wire coming out of the thermostat when the thermostat is on. When it is off there is zero volts to the red wire.
I also checked what I think is the defrost timer by turning a screw until it clicked but no change.
So I am unsure whether this is a simple thermostat issue or something more complex.
Hopefully the above is enough for someone to help. Happy to try stuff or supply more into.

Doesn't sound like your stat as you metered it out and you had 240v. Is the comp hot? Is it freezing up at the back on the inside? Have you tried leaving it off to defrost for 24 hours?

Thanks for helping. The comp does get hot as it appears to be on permanently. It is not freezing up on the inside at all, it remains warm and I the fan is always running. I presume that is the defrost fan. I have left it off for more than 24hours with no luck.

Do you think it's worth repairing?

By the time you've paid to get an engineer out who may find and repair the leak dependant on where it is probably spent half the price of a new one(which will have a warranty
