looked at a Ahu today unit has 4 coils but only 2 tevs outlet from valve was teed off to 2 coils I think it might work better with 4 tevs

tev's should be sized for the system anyway, if it works dont maul, fitting 4 tev's and running bulbs and by the time u run all ur pipework you wont be able to get in the ahu and if u do do it, no doubt the pipes will vibrate and chaff through

the problem is out let temp from coils is not balanced one is at -4 and one is at +9 as there is no control where the refrigerant goes after the valve so you can not set the super heat correctly for each coil. space to fit valves is not a issue as the units are 240kw units the problem is part of the coils are icing and parts of the coils are not very cold

Go for it then, maybe fit liq line solonoids and sight glasses to stage ur cooling. Hope ur pipework is better than ur drawing:D

What part of the country is the installation Martin?

Only asking because I did something similar and mine worked fine at commissioning stage but as I haven't been back to the job for 2 years, you may be looking at my work :eek:
