When the Valves are open, why is the airconditioner pumping down. Unit contains full charge 4.5 kgs of refrigerant. Where can the blockage be??

hey dmonte you'll probably find your lev coil is rooted or come loose from the valve... most coils from manufacturers go for around 30-50 bucks in oz

Check the filter/drier. Is the expansion device a capillary tube? If so rule it out.

You have your gauges hooked up? Also check the filter drier temp. Inlet/outlet for a TD. may be right there.
How do the compressor valves sound. loud? Sound like they are under load? Sounds to me with the problem given is a restriction in your high side.
