Can someone tell me if you need to use a specific USB adaptor in order for the cable to read data. My computer is displaying codes for "No connection" or "another device is already using this port".

Had the same problem, try all kind of drivers, different install orders but nothing worked for me. The solution was an older laptop with serial port and windows xp, everything works just fine now.
