.
I was looking through some old training materials
I have collected over the years and I found a document
the is all about domestic refrigeration and how to work
on them.
It is a realy good document but there was one section
that realy made me smile and demonstrated just how much
our industry has changed.
It was printed in the early 80's so its only 30 years old but
it describes leak test with a match...........
With the system running you hold a burning match to the
pipe coming from the bottom of the condenser.
When you remove the match the pipe should be cool to touch,
thus proving that the liquid is present and subcooled....
Can you imagin teaching that nowadays with HC refrigerants. ;)
