Does anyone know FOR SURE if the O6D and E compressors are authorized by Carlyle for use with a VFD? I need to see the chapter and verse please and a warranty statement.

Have you had a look on their website? http://www.carlylecompressor.com/corp/details/0,2938,CLI1_DIV24_ETI9761,00.html

I have... only 1 article about oil pressure dated Nov, 1995.

I assume that because of this 95T-8 bulletin these compressors ARE OK with VFDs but I have been told that the motor windings are not VFD quality...

On page 2 here (http://www.carlylecompressor.com/Files/Carlyle_Compressor/Local/US-en/oem_bulletins/99t-3.pdf) you will note a statement about inverter power supply

Yup, good info and timely in the '90s but drives are much better now. Paul Tollar has retired from Carlyle/Carrier but he has authored almost every article abt inverter drives. I've yet to find the definitive article on applications and limitation.
