Hi all got called to a LG P08AH system. Cooling a server room the unit had lost its gas due to a leak on the condenser coil. From the looks of it it's not the first time as there was evidence of a previous repair. Anyway repaired the leak pressure test and evacuated system. When it came to recharging it said on the outdoor 7.55 kg of R410A. I charged the system to 7.55 kg suction pressure 0 bar discharge 7 bar. Came to the conclusion that the 7.55 kg wasn't enough looked into it and all i could find on the P08AH was that a factory charge of 3.5 kg for first 7.5 m pipe run and 0.6m per meter after that . The pipe run is 25m in total meaning that a additional charge of 6.45 kg. I emptied my van of R410A and am still short 4 kg or so. The suction is still 0 bar and discharge 8 bar . Now the ambient temp was about 3 degC do I have another problem with the system pressures still being so low the unit was prob over condensing a bit with one fan running full pelt. The indoor unit was cooling much if at all will the extra charge sort things out or will I be fault finding again. Saying that my info could be wrong and someone who is familiar with this model might tell me different why would the id badge say 7.55kg if factory charge was 3.5 Kg a little confused

If this is the correct model in the link above, its only 40grams a meter over 7.5meters, so about 700 grams extra...

If all this is correct sounds like its got a restricion or something going on!

Hi Kirky,

With this model number you can get different figures. Have you got the full model number or even the number on the indoor unit? There should be a UF1, SF0 at least to narrow it down. Is this the big floor standing mother?

Cheers,
Andy.

Cheers guys for all the help. Andy its the big floor standing model all the details I have is LG P08AH AP-Z728FAO. Moondawn looks like that's the fella 7.55kg for 7.5m did it say what the additional charge is per meter above 7.5m . Yeah once I know I have the charge right will start looking for restrictions other problem was its sister unit went down late yesterday seized compressor always happens on a Friday luckily they are closed weekend so just put some temp coolers in and will deal with it Monday when I'm suppose to be installing 3 splits on another site oh the joys.

Hi all still having problems with this bloody LG unit. Ive charged the system correctly and started it up in test cool still getting low suction pressure at zero bar discharge at 15 bar. So must have a restriction. Thought I'd switch modes and see what unit did in heating. System heating ok so switched back over to cooling and system spank to life 5 bar suction 20 discharge low for R410A but unit cooling great good 12 degC diff across evap coil. Watched system cycle on and off for good hour all ok so I left site job done or so I though. Got called back to it today unit not cooling low suction again. Customer said it ran fine for 6 hours or so then just stopped cooling any ideas
