has anyone had problems with excessive vibrations on dwm compressors,it pumps ok and the heads are ok but there,s excessive vibration.
the compressor is on a delonghi chiller on a gantry on a roof with access via a vertical ladder.

Had something similar on a Climaveneta,
Turned out to be the discharge pipe was stressed by the brackets .
Loosened the brackets and allowed the pipe to take it's natural position, re tightened job done

Good advice Stufus.
A situation that is more common than many realize.

thanks for your replies but on this chiller there is a five foot flexible from after the muffler to the condenser

OK
But what connects the discharge valve to the muffler ??Did you try loosen the brackets at the muffler??
Have all transport plates/bolts been removed??
I'm not saying you don't have another issue, but the slightest bit of stress tension promotes resonance which amplifies the problem.

it may happen due to seize of connecting rod to shaft journal or any discharge read may broken.(this my site experience).

there is one bracket holding the discharge pipe to the compressor after the muffler and before the flexible its been ok for about five years

Should have asked this earlier ..
Is the vibration local to the comp or is it travelling throughout the chiller and through to the gantry.
Have you tried levering the suction and discharge pipes with a podger bar or a big shifter to pinpoint the source.

the vibration is due to the compressor as the other compressor on the chiller is ok ,as i said before the heads have been off and all looked ok

if you operate the compressor free of its piping , suction and discharge on a test bed , it may not vibrate . but as you install on system , it vibrates ........... if the answer is yes ...... you will have a partly broken discharge valve reed .........just check
