recently fitted a new contactor on a mitsi mr slim pu-p4yga on r407c, faulted by another engineer.put unit in test mode and contactor erratically pull in and out showing uf fault code which is compressor current overload.I checked windings,3 phase balance.Compressor to earth all ok,compressor starting amps 15, running amps between 4-5 but does anyone no if they are the correct amps for that model ?

Many thanks

Hope this helps
watts/volts = amps
eg a 415vac compressors with a 100watt motor =4.15 amps
415/100=4.15

im guessing your motor is around 1.8kw-1.9kw based on 415 vac and a running current of 4.5 amps
volts x amps = watts

Nice formula but id check the service manual!poss outdoor board isnt detecting current

yeh that is right amps for running, i kept contactor depressed compressor seemed to run with no undue noise, and discharge was hot so it must be pumping ruling out over current fault due to higher amps pulled if seized. Didn't have time to put on gauges or go more in depth but tommorow i will do the same whilst checking low and high side pressures just to prove compressor working leaving the assumption pcb is fault.

Cheers for replies
