Ok guys heres the situation. I have a 5 ton carrier condensing unit and a 6 ton carrier air handler. I got the stuff off of craiglist for 300 dollars. The condensing unit has no charge because it was recovered. The air handler was removed because building was getting torn down. The air handler now is a piston metering device and I would like to change it to a txv. I have a r22 txv but it only rated for 3ton. (Sporlan EGEV-3-C) If I use r290 for refrigerant could I use this txv. Thanks for the info.:confused:
