Had a strainge one today when testing a VRF system in heating mode & the fire alarm was activated:eek:
Turns out the smoke detector was located close to a supply air terminal & it has a built in high temp sensor. We suspect that the hot supply air may have caused the sensor to trip& activate the fire alarm.
On R410a & room temp 30 deg C off coil temp can easily be 50 deg C
Does anyone have fire alarm experiance & can advise ?
Perhaps we now have to get work permit to carry out heating test & make sure the fire alarm is de activated just in case a full heating test trips the fire alarm
