Hi Guys,
So the engineers before me use to whack at the fins with a wooden stick to remove ice from the back of the evaps.I know ,i know bunch of dumbasses. My question is i know you can get "combs" i think they are called to str8en them but is there any thing i can use or make up that will do the job as well ???
Thanks

Hi stanthonycold
I used to use a pair of long nose pliers when the fins were torn or folded over, I know it's laborious but often the combs would tear further or crease the fins. Then I would have an arsenal of combs (plastic and metalrods) to finish the job. You could try to make one like a small paint brush with thin rods but for the time involved I think it's best to spend the money and buy several different types of fin combs.

Give up replace the evap not worth your time ! or just leave it to be so long as air passes over nothing you can do but replace or live with it ....:-)

"IF" you decide to straighten them out yourself be sure to wear leather gloves or bring a good first-aid kit.
Wire brush. Start at the straight fins and work your way towards the damage pushing heavily. Rinse and repeat.
