Have a YT with an apparent vibration issue. This unit is oversized for low load conditions it is regularly subjected to but as a service tech thats out of my juricdiction.
Had a vibration analysis done on the machine and it has peaks in the high speed shaft area. I am still waiting on the report so I am limited on info. I have done some research and have found somewhat similar circumstances have cause major failures to othe units.
I removed the coupling and checked shaft alignment as a precaution and alignment is OK. While the coupling was out I also checked the side to side travel of the compressor shaft and found it to be .015 side to side .030 tolal movement and would lift .020. with light pressure. (hand only)
Would anyone have access to the manufacturer specified tolerances. They would be greatly appreciated.
