SR-S2028CSS Control Panel

I am working on a problem with the SR-S2028CSS where the control panel is locked up, no buttons function and the display occasionally beeps and changes the display. How do I reset the board or is this indicative of a failure ? If so how do I get the error code?

Have you locked the control panel accidentily?

Press Freezer temp and Refrigerator temp buttons at the same time and hold for 3 seconds.
