View Full Version : Recommendation for a fridge freezer?

Following on from thread 204008 (can't post links yet), and considering that you guys see a lot more fridge freezers than I do, what breed (or model if you want to be more specific) could you recommend.

Broadly speaking I'm after something similar sizewise (roughly 50/50 split) to the Hotpoint RFA07 that is rapidly dying on us. I'm a little flexible on that, but we are a family of four, so in this case size matters.

I've seen proline ones at Comet for £150 odd but doubt they're much cop, but equally at a house I rented recently there was a Liebherr and that played up too and I think they're quite pricey?

I'm not too bothered about having a frost free if that makes them more reliable as it's not a great problem to defrost every so often (if you can get a frosting fridge freezer like that still), but either way I want something that's going to last. I am going to have alook at second hand machines too; if I do this what should I be checking (though I will buy from a shop if this is the case so there is some warranty).

Cheers

From posts here, avoid Hotpoint.

If possible, steer clear of electronics in fridges.
