Air conditioning set-up for small van

Dear Forum,

I have a small van (Citreon Berlingo) and wish to add an air conditioning unit. I've looked at some of the roof-mounted units for sale (e.g. Dometic) and was astonished at their cost (>£1,000). Can anyone suggest how air conditioning can be added to a small van much more cheaply? The air conditioning would sometimes need to run over-night with the engine switched off and be capable of keeping the internal van temperature within a certain range (e.g. 18-20C). This is the trouth if you put down the cost of evry litle part you need you will see that is a fair price ......

Compresor/pipe lines/exp valve/condesen/evaporator/wirings/........... a lot of parts........ ;)

I agree with others, price sounds cheap. Maybe too cheap??
