I have a Daiken FVXT50GV1NB Consol heat pump. It cycles fairly rapidly on and off, At the moment 15seconds on and 5 minutes off This maybe because it's location is close to a low shelf which does not allow the heat to get away from the built in thermostat quickly enough. I am thinking of installing a remote thermostat in a location which will allow a better temperature sensing. I have looked at programmable t/stats and wonder if they can be wired in to my indoor unit. We only need the heating cycle to be controlled.:D

hi lemuzz , on a ducted heat pump the temp, sensor would be in the return duct, but on a split heat pump, one would have to position the sensor at the side of the indoor unit < not touching <
or go back top basics and knock the lower shelf down

Do you have a hand held or hard wired remote controller?
With some hard wired models you can select to use the temperature sensor within the controller instead of the unit.
I don't know whether that facility is available with the hand held units.
