Hi everyone,

I'm a part time student in my final year at glasgow caledonian university studying building services engineering and i am currently working on my final year project which is on `Trigeneration in a Supermarket'. I'm finding it very diffiicult to attain any information on the refrigeration side of things. In order to establish my CHP plant load i have to know the heatng load and energy consumption which i now know, however i cannot get any information on the refrigeration side of things. Does anyone have an idea of the kW rating of the refrigeration cooling capacity required for a 3500sqm store, and how long would the systems operate for? is there a utilisation factor that would be applied?

I hope someone can help.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark
Welcome to the forum.
In the old days we were taught that the condensing unit would run 1/3 of the time but things may have changed with technology today. We also called trigen cogeneration. I know some of the more experienced members in this area will add more info for you.
