Hi , has any one done retrofit on rta series from trane using r22, models like the 430 using four screw type compressores,using 2 on each circuit.somebody want´s to use r422d on it, just wonder if anyone has done it and what kind of problems happend using mineral oil

r422d can't be used with the trane screw compressors. it's either r134a or r404.

Using R422d you have saturated ref. temps between -3 to -5 leaving the EEV entering the evap which will freeze the end of the tubes! Due to TRANE using remote oil separators the oil return is poor apparently the oil return is better on compressor with internal separator i.e Bitzer,Hitachi, refcomp.
Like Lowrider said you can only use R404a or R134a best to use R404a as you can lose up to 30% capacity converting to R134a
Best to contract TRANE to carry out conversion.
