What is the best pump that will fit in the corner space of a Daikin FUQ, 4-way blow unit? I would think a remote sump type would suit but has anyone tried this with success?

They need mounting outside the unit but yes they work.

sauermann have a sump float type, the float switch you can mount within the unit and the small pump must be mounted vertically so it stays primed, this is linked via a phone cable between the two.
A lot of them you can mount the pump in line with your pipework depending on the installation.

I wouldn't have thought that those tiny sumps would keep up with the pumped output of the daikin unit?
Could you use the onboard pump to pump to a decent sized sump pump mounted somewhere else? - not necessarily any where near your pipework, but somewhere accessible.
