Oil filter replacment shouldn't be done as regular maintenance, only if oil analysis shows contamination.

I would start by isolating the compressor and evacuating, then remove oilfilter cover plate.

I would not attemp this repair without the proper procedure from the service manual. Im sure if you contact trane they will help you out with that.

If you are replacing the oil filter its best to replace the oil reg valve which is located behind the oil filter, as this can be the cause of most oil faults. the filter very rearley needs to be replaced.once you have recovered the gas from the compressor remove the 1/4inch grub screw to relief a small amount of pressure before removing the oil filter access plate. the grub screw is on the front of the oil filter plate.

hai guys
reason to change the filter was this chiller rtac 250 was tripping due to alarm low oil flow immediately after the start and intermediate oil pressure is also going below 70 psi .

it is more than likely to be the oil regulating valve situated behind the oil filter which is causing oil diff trips,
replace reg valve to clear fault
