Hi All

I am having a problem with an xarios 500, the unit is working ok on road but on standby the is no 24v supply,

I checked fuse 123 transformer primary fuses and 1 and 2 had blown to bits, I checked the plug going to the transformer and it was full of water , I dried out the plug and replaced the fuses ,

There is power going to the transformer now but there is no 24v volts out.

The plug to the transformer is in good condition and I cant find anything else wrong.

Is there anything else I can check or is the transformer gone.

Thanks

Chris

Check the transformer windings for continuity.

It does sound as though the tranny is shot though.

We did one last week that had burnt wires on the Bridge. Kelvin is likely correct on this one. One thing to watch for on those is the condenser fan. That big blade can cause huge amp draw.
Just a thought.

While I was at the job yesterday I unbolted the rectifier from the body all the wires looked fine, Theres three thick black wires coming from the transformer, one going to black and one going to red and the other to a blank.

When I turn on the power there is a supply to the transformer but when I put the meter on the red and black at the rectifier there is 0.3 v .

I will check the windings on the transformer today and let you know the results.

Thanks

Chris

check the output from the transformer and let us know the readings it will be low voltage ac about 30 volts when its rectified it will be dc about 24/28 dc
