I notice on a few of the albums on this site people overhauling screws on site .
I can't help but think this would be more difficult than it has to be .
Whats the reason for this , are they to hard to get out of plantroom or remote locations ?
There is 1 Howden 321 , it must be difficult in a plantroom that is running as well as physically lifting everything .

Hi Ranger 1

I think that if you have the necessary space around the compressor and the necessary tools for the heavy lifting its just as easy to do the overhaul on site. If you are refering to my album with the WRV 321, we had a forklift available so the lifting was no trouble at all.
But there has been some jobs where i wished we could have taken the compressor to our workshop. Sometimes it is a time and cost question

I have been involved with doing compressors on site , but sometimes a small hiccup can mean taking parts or compressor off site anyway .

Had to do 2 off S75 Stals on site in 110 decibel noise , nearly broke me as you have to scream at each other as well as heat + noise fatigue .

Nearly all compressors have to be taken off base to do an overhaul , Howden may be the exception .

Most if not all places we work at have no provisions for overhaul on site and we would be working off the floor .
