why is it this country grinds to a halt when there is 3 inches of snow?
I was in New York last year where there was 2 feet of snow and everyone just gets on with it.

If you want a country that is prepared for bad weather go and live in one.

Personally I'm more than happy to put up with the odd day every ten years or so if we continue to have mild winters...

I also don't want to waste billions on snow ploughs etc sitting in yards waiting for this odd event.

We are not used to bad weather in the UK -long may it continue:cool:

What snow? Don't see none on Emmerdale
Driving muppetry is dead right. Like the posers in Range Rover Sports, BMW X3/X5 etc. Think they can handle it because they have 4wd - not with 12" wide low-profile sports tyres they can't.

We had 14" of snow here in Oklahoma on Christmas eve. we had to work in it-I was on top of a warehouse roof trying to get 3 Carrier gas heating units working. The wind would have cut you in half.
Real brass monkey weather!

I've an old full size '83 Bronco with 4wd and transfer case hi/lo, and had to pull a few people out of ditches here over the last week.

here in Quebec we go from +40C with humidity factor in the summer to -40C with the wind factor in winter, right now we have about 2 feet of snow and i just love driving in snow of course you have to be very careful , we are suppose to be use to it but still you always find some people stuck here and there, go figure.

i havent seen my grass since the 19th of december, i have around 30 inches of snow where i stay.
not seen a gritter or plough in the last week, The roads are like a skating rink and you cant see where road starts and the pavement ends, and guess what weather man says another 10 centimeters due overnight,
Yes its good to have a wee bit snow every now and then but its now past a joke!!!!

Its just Mother Nature telling us to chill out, take a few days off, and leave the roads as clear as possible for the emergency services etc.

Today is the first day that I have taken off due to poor weather since Feb or March last year, and I only took one day off then because the client could'nt make a meeting, prior to that I honestly cannot remember having time off due to poor weather, anyway got to go, meeting the lads at 12!!

Cheers
