Daikin model ry71luv1 error J2 Outdoor Current sensor malfunction

Hi All,

I have a Daikin ducted air-con system, it has been working just fine until today which hit 40°c. I'm not sure if it's the heat which killed it or simply the fact that I have been using it almost everyday since i moved in over a year ago, wouldn't say that it runs 24/7 but if someone is home its either heating or cooling......except now!

The error code displaying on the wall controller is J2.

If you have any advice or information regarding the error I would love to hear from you.

A 'J2' error relates to a 'Current Sensor Error'.

Not one I've come across before. My error flow charts are in the office so I can't advise any further at the moment, but I would hazard a guess that you need a replacement part, possibly the outdoor PCB.

Sorry to post on an old thread but it may be useful to someone.

I've had this a few times, where the 'BLUE' run capacitor (50uf) for the compressor is either open or part open circuit causing an over current on start up.
