Stick with the course and if you have to come to some agreement with an employer about voluntury work do so, that way you can provide evidence for the course.

Talk to the college about transferring to the full time course, until another job opportunity come your way.

You should be able to still do the course and take the exam which will give you the Technical Certificate.
The NVQ element is an additional portfolio of work which can be completed at a later date when you find employment.

All the best.

unfortunately you cannot do the NVQ without an employer, you can get your tech cert, and carry on with your NVQ2 at a later stage like tayters says, but with the NVQ you need work based evidence and on site assessments etc , kev p/t college lecturer and engineer

You can be self employed and still complete the NVQ.

Hi Jason,
Life is a bitch some times, get out there and bang on doors and offer to to work for zip/zero nothing to get a foot in the door. Be pro-active. There is no such thing as a free lunch these days, hell I would not won't to be starting over again, given the current economic climate in the UK.
