I am about to start a retrofit of a 23xl with 2-120ton turbocors. This will be a r-22 conversion to 134a. My question is, is there a problem with leaving the float in as a metering device instead of introducing a exv. After looking over manufactures specs I cannot determine the issue with usinig the high side float regaurdless of the refrigerant it is 134a or 22. If there are any other tips they would be apprieciated. Thanks

You will have a different pressure differential across the float port (orifice) you need to check that you will achieve the correct flow of the new refrigerant at design pressure, your float manufacture should be able to give you this
