Hi
At my work we have a Sharp split system air con running on R22 and ice is froming on the suction flare joint, valve cap and charge valve, of the outer condensor unit, the copper pipe is clear of ice if I pull lagging back.
The air is 8 deg c comming out of the internal evap unit at max fan speed, all filters and evaporator are clean I gave them all a clean / vacuumed to make sure, blower spins freely.
The air comming out of the condensor unit is at about 38 - 40 Deg c, condensor is mounted in a large warehouse close to the ground, office is the other side of the wall, temp of air in warehouse is about 25 deg c
Unit is on pretty much all day from 8:30am till 5 PM we like it cold, it keeps us awake and safe on live electrical equipment, air temp in middle of room is 20 - 21 deg c.
Is this ice build up normal or indicatin that something is not quite right maybe not the right capacity unit for the room ?
Its a cooling only 18000 btu unit.
Thanks.
