Tried to buy some R413A today from Climate centre only to be told they are no longer stocking it as Agas has stopped making it :eek::rolleyes:

Anyone else heard anything?

They have stoped making R413a -it's changed chemical structure v.slightly and is now called R49 plus.It has a grey sticker instead ;-)

They say you're not supposed to top up or mix but that's them covering their Harris. just carry on as if it's the same stuff.

I thought R413A and R49 were the same thing.... will have to look into this tomorrow.

Which is what I meant, which is why I said they now make R49 plus.

R413A and R437A are manufactured by DuPont as R12/ R409A/ 401A/ 401B replacements.

R413A was phased out because it contained PFC 218 (octofluoropropane) which has a very high GWP and is expensive to produce.

R437A has a lower GWP, has a slightly better capacity and has comparible pressures + runs with traditional lubricants.

Alternatively you could use RS24 - R426A manufactured by Refrigerant Solutions which is very similar and has a lower GWP
